The Process

Step 1: Consultation

Make the phone call!

We are happy to talk to you about your hair needs. If you need to be white or if you just want your natural white hair to be thicker and fuller – we can help!

We will have you send a selfie so we know what we are working with. We will tell you all about the process and what to expect. We will cover the costs of any products and services you will need.

And we can book all your appointments for you.

  • Learn about you

  • Determine your goals
  • Cover the process
  • Discuss products
  • Book Appointments!

Step 2: Detox

Everyone needs to detox!

We recommend a detox appointment before any bleaching appointments. Everyone needs to detox. It is really called a chelating treatment. We all have build up in our hair and this treatment removes the build up. The build up comes from chemicals and metals in the water – especially if you have hard or well water.

Metals in the hair can have adverse effects when they come in contact with bleach and other chemicals that we use to whiten the hair.

This can lead to dry, brittle and breaking hair. This could also be a reason you may not be able to get completely white.

We do a heavy duty chelating treatment in the salon for your detox appointment. We then provide you with the products and teach you how to control the build up and stop it from getting worse.

  • Removes Build Up
  • Removes Minerals
  • Removes Chemicals
  • Start with a clean palette

Step 3: Building Strength

Grow you hair longer, stronger, and fuller!

At your detox appointment we will teach you how and why to condition and build the strength of your hair. We have a proven process that is good for all Santas to grow your hair longer and stronger and make it soft!

It will help with the length and fullness no matter who you are or what type of hair you have.

For Santas that want to bleach their hair white, we recommend that you do consistent treatments for at least 1 (one) month prior to beginning the bleaching process.

For naturally white Santas , this is an amazing routine to do all year long on a regular basis (bi-monthly) that will transform your hair and beard.

  • For naturally white Santas
  • For bleaching Santas
  • Build hair strength
  • Grow longer and fuller beard

Step 4: Bleaching

Everyone is different – it could take 2+ sessions before you are white.

We ask that you come to the appointment with detoxed, clean, dry and product free hair. We will walk through the process step by step so you know what to expect.

We prep your hair before we bleach with several products to protect your hair and skin during the process. We provide straws to breath through as well as a fan should the fumes bother your eyes.

We will determine the best way to apply the bleach (directly to the hair or in foil packets). This is determined by a number of factors such as the length of your hair and beard and if you have any left over bleach from a previous session.

It can take about an hour to apply the bleach. We us different developers to ensure everything processes evenly and at the same time. We go very slow to preserve the integrity of your hair.

Once we get the maximum lift for that session, we rinse everything out. We don’t ever use toners as they are unpredictable. To help tone the hair to white we use purple shampoo. Not all purple shampoos are the same and ours help close the cuticle of the hair. This makes the hair easier to come and makes it shinier.

Note: Most Santa will need at least 2 visits before they are white. Some take more – we will let you know during consultation how many sessions we estimate you will need.
We also have all Santas sign a release form prior to bleaching.

  • Detox before
  • Prep the hair
  • Determine bleaching process
  • Rinse and tone

Step 5: Snow White

White as the snow on the roof!

Once we get your hair to white, we recommend a touch up appointment every 4-6 weeks to maintain your new hair growth. It is very important to do regular consistent touch ups to prevent yellow banding in your hair and beard.

  • Snow white hair
  • Touch up appointments
  • Maintenance routines

Step 6: Home Maintenance

The most important part to maintain your snow white hair.

While you are at the salon we will teach you how to use the products that you will need to maintain the health of your hair. This is more important than anything we do at the salon!

The health of your hair is up to you and if you are consistent with the conditioning treatments you will have a healthy full beard and head of hair.

  • The most important step
  • Consistency is key
  • We provide written instructions
